Thyroid Disorders

Fatigue, weight change, hair fall — your thyroid affects everything. Get care that looks at the full picture.

What is Thyroid Disorders?

The thyroid gland controls metabolism in every cell of the body. When it is underactive (hypothyroidism) or overactive (hyperthyroidism), the effects show up everywhere: energy, weight, mood, skin, hair, heart rate and menstrual cycles.

Thyroid disorders are extremely common — especially in women — and very manageable. But good management means more than a pill and an annual TSH test: nutrition, autoimmunity and lifestyle all influence how you actually feel.

Common Symptoms

Persistent fatigue or sluggishness
Unexplained weight gain or loss
Hair thinning and dry skin
Feeling unusually cold or hot
Constipation or frequent stools
Irregular or heavy menstrual cycles
Low mood, anxiety or brain fog
Swelling in the neck (goitre)

Causes & Risk Factors

The most common cause of hypothyroidism in India is autoimmune (Hashimoto's thyroiditis); iodine imbalance, medications, pregnancy-related changes and pituitary issues also contribute. Hyperthyroidism is most often caused by Graves' disease, another autoimmune condition.

How The Cure Cabin Helps

We test beyond TSH where appropriate — free T4, T3, thyroid antibodies, vitamin D, B12, iron — and address the autoimmune and lifestyle drivers, not just the hormone number. Medication is optimized with your doctor while nutrition, gut health and stress support how you feel day to day.

This page is for education, not diagnosis. Symptoms overlap between conditions — a proper medical evaluation is always the first step.

Frequently Asked Questions

My TSH is normal but I still feel exhausted. Why?
TSH alone doesn't tell the whole story. Antibodies, T3/T4 levels, nutrient deficiencies, sleep and other conditions can all cause symptoms — a fuller evaluation often finds the answer.
Will I be on thyroid medication for life?
Often yes for established hypothyroidism, but doses can change over time, and how you feel can improve substantially with the right supporting care. Never stop medication without your doctor.
Does thyroid disease affect fertility?
Yes — untreated thyroid imbalance can affect ovulation, conception and pregnancy outcomes. It should be optimized before and during pregnancy.
