Fatty Liver

Fatty liver is silent but reversible in its early stages. Act while your liver can still fully recover.

What is Fatty Liver?

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) — now called MASLD — is the build-up of excess fat in the liver in people who drink little or no alcohol. It affects up to one in three urban Indian adults, usually silently.

In its early stages, fatty liver is largely reversible with weight reduction and metabolic correction. Left alone, a subset progresses to inflammation (NASH), fibrosis and cirrhosis — which is why an incidental 'Grade 1 fatty liver' on ultrasound deserves action, not a shrug.

Common Symptoms

Usually no symptoms in early stages
Fatigue and low energy
Dull ache or heaviness in the right upper abdomen
Elevated liver enzymes (SGPT/SGOT) on tests
Fatty liver noted on routine ultrasound
Increased waist circumference
Often accompanies diabetes, high triglycerides
Advanced disease: jaundice, swelling (rare)

Causes & Risk Factors

Fatty liver is driven by insulin resistance: excess calories — particularly refined carbohydrates, sugar and fructose — combined with inactivity and central weight gain overload the liver's fat processing. Genetics influence who progresses. It frequently co-exists with prediabetes, diabetes, PCOS and high triglycerides.

How The Cure Cabin Helps

Our program targets the metabolic root: a sustainable 7–10% weight reduction (the level shown to reverse liver fat), a liver-friendly eating pattern, activity, and monitoring of liver enzymes and metabolic markers so you can see the reversal in your own reports.

This page is for education, not diagnosis. Symptoms overlap between conditions — a proper medical evaluation is always the first step.

Our Care Process

01

Understand You

A detailed consultation covering your history, reports, lifestyle and goals — not a 5-minute rush.

Personalised Protocol

One integrated plan — Ayurvedic and Homoeopathic medicines plus diet and lifestyle. Natural, non-toxic, no steroids.

04

Follow-Up & Adjust

Regular reviews track your symptoms and lab markers, adjusting the plan until results hold.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can fatty liver be reversed?
Yes — early-stage fatty liver is one of the most reversible chronic conditions. Losing 7–10% of body weight substantially reduces liver fat in most patients; even 5% helps.
I don't drink. How do I have fatty liver?
Most fatty liver today is metabolic, not alcoholic — driven by insulin resistance, sugar and refined-carb intake, and inactivity. Thin people can have it too.
Is Grade 1 fatty liver serious?
Grade 1 means an early stage — the ideal time to act. It is not an emergency, but ignoring it lets a reversible condition progress toward one that isn't.
